BANGKOK/SEOUL -- The increasing demand for laundromats in Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand and the Philippines, is attracting major washing machine manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and U.S.-based Alliance Laundry Systems. This trend is largely fueled by the region's expanding middle class, which is seeking convenient and time-saving laundry solutions.

According to a report by Nikkei Asia, the WashXpress chain operates around 600 locations in Thailand, utilizing Speed Queen washers and dryers from Alliance Laundry Systems. This growth in laundromat services reflects changing consumer behaviors, as more people are opting for commercial laundry services due to busy lifestyles.

Samsung has also recognized the potential in this market, with plans to introduce its own line of commercial washing machines tailored for laundromat use.
