VinSpace Partners with SpaceX for Satellite Launch
The Vietnamese company VinSpace has signed a contract with SpaceX to launch its satellites, marking a significant step in Vietnam's space industry.
On August 11, 2026, VinSpace, a subsidiary of Vingroup led by billionaire Phạm Nhật Vượng, officially signed a contract with SpaceX, the American aerospace company founded by Elon Musk. This agreement will see VinSpace's satellites launched into orbit via SpaceX's Transporter Rideshare program in the second quarter of 2027.
The partnership is a critical milestone in VinSpace's journey to develop a comprehensive aerospace capability in Vietnam. According to VinSpace's CEO Vũ Trọng Thư, testing domestically developed satellite modules in orbit is essential for transforming their research and development capabilities into practical missions. This contract is seen as a significant advancement in VinSpace's long-term strategy to build a commercial aerospace ecosystem in Vietnam.
VinSpace plans to utilize this launch to test and validate satellite technologies under real orbital conditions. The company aims to enhance its engineering team's capabilities, expand international collaborations, and gradually commercialize space technology through various products and services. VinSpace was established on November 3, 2025, with an initial capital of 300 billion VND, positioning it as a key player in Vietnam's burgeoning space sector.

The collaboration with SpaceX aligns with VinSpace's strategy to partner with leading global technology firms to realize its first space missions. The announcement of the partnership came just four months after VinSpace's initial declaration in April 2026 to launch its first satellites by 2027, indicating a swift advancement in their commercial space technology ambitions.
