Suntory PepsiCo Opens $300 Million State-of-the-Art Factory in Vietnam

Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has officially inaugurated its sixth factory in the country, a state-of-the-art facility located in Huu Thanh Industrial Park, Tay Ninh. With a total investment of approximately $300 million, this factory is the largest and most modern within the Suntory PepsiCo network in Asia, according to company officials.

The new facility is equipped with advanced automation and digital technology, streamlining the entire production process from raw material reception to packaging and logistics. It boasts impressive production capabilities, with a can line operating at a speed of 120,000 cans per hour and a PET line reaching 84,000 bottles per hour, as reported by Thanh Nien.

In addition to enhancing production capacity, the factory is designed to support the production of products using 100% recycled plastic packaging (rPET). This initiative aligns with Suntory PepsiCo's commitment to a circular economy and aims to promote sustainable packaging solutions in the future. Josuke Kimura, President and CEO of Suntory Beverage & Food, highlighted the importance of this investment, stating that the factory marks another significant milestone in their journey of 'Development for Good' in Vietnam, reinforcing their long-term commitment through advanced production capabilities and innovation.

Kimura further emphasized that Vietnam is one of the most promising growth markets in Asia, noting the shifting consumer preferences. He mentioned that this investment enhances their ability to respond to Vietnamese consumers more quickly and at a larger scale while opening up potential to serve the broader region.

The new factory also features the first fully automated warehouse for Suntory PepsiCo in Asia, capable of storing 43,000 pallets. This automated system utilizes real-time data for efficient inventory management and logistics, contributing to operational efficiency and workplace safety.

This development is part of a broader trend of significant foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam, which has seen a surge in recent years.
