The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in various sectors, marking a significant step in Vietnam-Germany relations.

On October 13, 2026, Sovico Group formalized a partnership with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany, during a ceremony held at HDBank headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City. This agreement aims to broaden cooperation in sectors including aviation, railways, finance, logistics, technology, and education, coinciding with Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, the Chairwoman of Sovico, welcomed Mr. Peter Tschentscher, the Prime Minister and First Mayor of Hamburg, along with his delegation. The meeting fostered discussions on leveraging Germany's industrial, technological, and financial strengths to meet Vietnam's robust development needs. Attendees included notable figures such as Mr. Kim Byoungho, Chairman of HDBank, and Dr. Philipp Rösler, former Deputy Prime Minister of Germany.
During the meeting, Dr. Thao highlighted the longstanding collaboration with German partners over the past three decades, emphasizing achievements in technology, healthcare, finance, and aviation. She proposed enhancing direct air connections between Vietnam and Germany and developing airport infrastructure, logistics, urban rail systems, maritime transport, and supporting industries. "Now is the time for all parties to share visions, connect resources, and create sustainable values," Dr. Thao stated.
