AEV Develops Industrial Estates to Attract Manufacturers
Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) is creating industrial estates aimed at enhancing the Philippines' manufacturing sector, particularly for electric vehicles.

Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) is actively developing industrial estates in the Philippines to attract manufacturers, particularly in the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) sector. This initiative aligns with the government's recent push to enhance local manufacturing capabilities and draw foreign investments.
AEV's plans include the establishment of manufacturing hubs in strategic locations, which the company believes will provide the necessary infrastructure and support for manufacturers. According to AEV, these estates will not only cater to local firms but also appeal to international companies looking to expand their operations in Southeast Asia.

As part of this strategy, AEV is collaborating with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), which has recently reported significant growth in approved investments, amounting to approximately P216.47 billion (around $4 billion) in the first eight months. This increase underscores the government's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for manufacturing, particularly in high-demand sectors like electric vehicles.

In July, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. introduced a comprehensive strategy aimed at attracting investments in electric vehicle production, which includes a $1 billion subsidy program. This initiative is designed to bolster local manufacturing capabilities and position the Philippines as a key player in the EV market. Analysts suggest that AEV's development of industrial estates is a timely response to these government incentives, potentially enhancing the country's attractiveness to global manufacturers.
Furthermore, the establishment of these estates is expected to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the regions where they are located. AEV's commitment to developing these industrial hubs reflects a broader trend of increasing investment in the Philippines' manufacturing sector, particularly in sustainable technologies.
