ECM Libra Secures RM130 Million Financing for Desaru Hotel Development

ECM Libra Berhad has successfully obtained a financing package of RM130 million from RHB Bank for the development of a hotel project in Desaru, Johor. This funding is intended to cover part of the costs associated with the construction and development of the hotel, which is expected to bolster the region's tourism sector.

According to Berita Harian, the financing will be utilized as a revolving credit facility, allowing the company to borrow, repay, and borrow again, providing flexibility in managing cash flow during the construction phase.

RHB Bank, one of Malaysia's leading financial institutions, has a strong presence in the banking sector, offering various financial products including Islamic banking services. The bank's support for ECM Libra's project underscores its commitment to fostering growth in the hospitality industry, particularly in emerging tourist destinations like Desaru.

Business Today, the hotel is part of a broader strategy by ECM Libra to expand its footprint in the hospitality sector, which has been recovering as travel restrictions ease and tourism begins to rebound post-pandemic.

Desaru, known for its beautiful beaches and family-friendly attractions, has been gaining popularity among both local and international tourists. The development of new hospitality projects is seen as crucial in enhancing the region's appeal and capacity to accommodate increasing visitor numbers.
