PharmKulen Secures Investment to Transform Cambodia's Pharmacy Landscape

PharmKulen, a startup emerging from the Cambodia Startup Launchpad, has secured a pre-seed investment from 2080 Ventures, marking a significant milestone for the program designed to support local entrepreneurs. This initiative, backed by Khmer Enterprise, aims to transform the way Cambodians access medicines, especially in a country where over 7 million people visit pharmacies first when they fall ill.

The innovative platform allows users to search for medicines and identify which nearby pharmacies have them in stock, addressing a common challenge in Cambodia where many pharmacies still rely on paper-based systems. PharmKulen's web app and Telegram bot are designed to streamline this process, providing real-time data on medicine availability.

“Pharmacies are already the front door to healthcare in Cambodia and across emerging markets. We are simply making that door smarter.”Khidayotullo Salakhitdinov, Founder and CEO of PharmKulen

With a comprehensive dataset of over 18,000 medicines catalogued in six languages, including Khmer, PharmKulen is building a robust foundation for its services. The company is also developing PK-Genesis, an AI system tailored for the pharmaceutical sector. According to Khidayotullo Salakhitdinov, Founder and CEO of PharmKulen, he mentioned that pharmacies are already the front door to healthcare in Cambodia and across emerging markets, and that they are simply making that door smarter.

“This investment reflects the growing potential of PharmKulen to scale innovative solutions and attract private capital from regional investors.”H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin, CEO of Khmer Enterprise

H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin, Delegate of the Royal Government and CEO of Khmer Enterprise, emphasized the importance of this investment, stating that it reflects the growing potential of PharmKulen to scale innovative solutions and attract private capital from regional investors. The Cambodian government is committed to fostering a supportive environment for startups, which is crucial for the country's economic development.

Timur Daudpota and Sun Choi, Founding Partners of 2080 Ventures, highlighted the significance of PharmKulen's approach, noting that PharmKulen is exactly why the Cambodia Startup Launchpad exists: a strong local team turning a real problem into a defensible data and AI company that can scale across the region.
