On September 24, 2026, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul participated in the opening bell ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), becoming the third Thai Prime Minister to do so. This event coincided with the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and was seen as a platform to showcase Thailand's economic potential to global investors.
During the ceremony, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the NYSE. This agreement aims to facilitate dual listings, cross-listing of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), and the development of joint products and indices, according to SET officials. The collaboration is expected to enhance opportunities for Thai companies to access global investors and funding sources, thereby supporting business expansion and cross-border investments.
