Taiwan Extends Visa-Free Entry for Thai Travelers Until July 2027
The Taiwanese government has confirmed a one-year extension of visa-free travel for Thai citizens, allowing stays of up to 14 days.

The Taiwanese government has announced the extension of its visa-free entry policy for Thai citizens, allowing them to visit Taiwan for up to 14 days without a visa. This extension will remain in effect until July 2027, according to reports from both Prachachat and Khaosod English.
This initiative is part of Taiwan's broader strategy to boost tourism from Thailand, a key market for Taiwanese tourism. The visa exemption was initially implemented in 2020, and its extension reflects ongoing efforts to attract Thai tourists.
In 2022, Taiwan welcomed approximately 200,000 Thai visitors, a figure that has been steadily increasing as travel restrictions have eased following the pandemic. The extension of the visa-free policy is expected to further encourage travel between the two regions, enhancing cultural exchanges and economic ties.
Officials from Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the decision supports Taiwan's goal of promoting tourism and strengthening international relationships. The ministry expressed optimism that the extended visa-free access will lead to an increase in Thai tourists, thus benefiting local businesses and the hospitality sector.
