Lufthansa Expands Aircraft Maintenance Operations in the Philippines

MANILA — Lufthansa Group has officially commenced construction on a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Clark International Airport. This facility will be capable of servicing up to nine widebody aircraft simultaneously, marking a significant expansion of the group's presence in the Philippines.

This new site will serve as Lufthansa's second MRO facility in the country, following its existing operations in Manila. The decision to establish the facility at Clark aligns with the Philippine government's efforts to position the country as a regional aviation hub, a strategy that has been underscored by various initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and services in the aviation sector.

According to Lufthansa Technik, the facility will not only support the maintenance needs of the group's airlines but also cater to third-party customers, thereby contributing to the growth of the local aviation maintenance industry.
