Long Thanh International Airport Set to Launch International Flights by December 2026

Long Thanh International Airport, located in Đồng Nai province approximately 40 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City, is scheduled to start operations in December 2026. The airport aims to launch with four international routes, enhancing Vietnam's aviation connectivity and addressing the growing demand for air travel in the region.

According to Tuoi Tre, the airport will initially connect to major international destinations, although specific routes have yet to be confirmed. The construction of Long Thanh International Airport was officially approved by the Vietnamese government in January 2021, with the first phase expected to be completed by late 2026. This new airport is designed to alleviate congestion at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which has been struggling to accommodate the increasing number of passengers and flights due to its limited capacity.
