BANGKOK — Thai immigration police have arrested a 42-year-old South Korean man, identified only as Lee, who is wanted in South Korea for allegedly operating an illegal pornography website that published sexual videos involving girls under the age of 16.

The arrest took place in a luxury condominium in Bangkok's Thonglor area, following a request from the South Korean Embassy in Thailand. South Korean authorities had issued an arrest warrant for Lee, prompting Interpol to issue a Red Notice to assist in his capture and extradition.

According to the Immigration Bureau, Lee fled to Thailand in March 2026 after becoming aware of the impending arrest. He was located and taken into custody after immigration authorities confirmed his presence at the condominium and revoked his permission to remain in Thailand.

During questioning, Lee reportedly admitted to managing the illegal pornography website in South Korea, where he allegedly published a large volume of pornographic videos involving minors. He is currently being held at an Immigration Bureau detention facility while awaiting procedures for his return to South Korea to face prosecution.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and the international efforts to combat such crimes. The International Organization for Migration has reported alarming trends in trafficking and exploitation related to online sexual abuse across Southeast Asia, affecting thousands of vulnerable individuals.
