“John Paul Chen noted that Deluge’s 8.3 percent share of a market comprising 775 fire-protection contractors points to a highly fragmented industry.”John Paul Chen, Chief Investment Officer
Deluge plans to allocate the proceeds towards enhancing its infrastructure and operational capabilities, pursuing strategic partnerships, and expanding its integrated fire-detection platform. CEO Lee Wai Wah emphasized the company's intent to selectively pursue regional expansion opportunities, particularly in Malaysia, as it seeks to grow its market presence beyond Singapore.
Founded in 1983, Deluge specializes in comprehensive fire protection solutions, including fire suppression systems and alarms. The company has established a significant foothold in Singapore's fire protection market, holding an 8.3 percent share, according to Frost & Sullivan. As of September 16, Deluge reported an order book valued at about S$433 million, with a substantial portion derived from government contracts.
While Indonesian coverage of the IPO highlighted the strong subscription rates and investor confidence, it did not delve into the specifics of the trading performance on the SGX. In contrast, Singaporean outlets emphasized the IPO's successful debut on the exchange, noting the significant increase in share price on the first trading day and the overall market capitalization achieved. This framing reflects Singapore's focus on the immediate market response and investor sentiment, while Indonesian reports concentrated more on the company's future growth strategies and regional ambitions.
