Cambodia and Azerbaijan Strengthen Economic Ties with New Agreements
Recent agreements between Cambodia and Azerbaijan aim to enhance trade, economic cooperation, and tax regulations, marking a significant step in their bilateral relations.

On October 12, Cambodia and Azerbaijan solidified their bilateral relations by signing several key agreements in Baku, aimed at enhancing trade and economic cooperation. Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Azerbaijani President H.E. Ilham Aliyev jointly presided over the ceremony.
The agreements included a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Trade and Economic Cooperation, another MoU on collaboration between the National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations of Cambodia and ADA University in Azerbaijan, and an Agreement for the Elimination of Double Taxation (DTA). The DTA was signed by Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul and Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov under the high patronage of the two heads of state. The DTA aims to prevent tax evasion and avoidance, fostering a more conducive environment for bilateral investments and economic exchanges.
