Reporters to vote for ‘Vietnamese Grammys’

Reporters on the art beat from Vietnamese newspapers, magazines, online newspapers as well as TV and radio stations will vote for the best artists and musical productions of 2016. The awards will be given in nine categories, including best song, best album, best singer, best composer, new artist, best live music show, and best television music show.

For the first time, there will also be the best producer of the year award, The Hanoi Times reported on Wednesday (April 19, 2017).

The awards ceremony will be held on April 25 at the HCM City Opera House and broadcast live on Viet Nam Television’s VTV 9.

Since 2005, the Vietnam News Agency’s Culture and Sports daily has been organizing the awards every year to promote Vietnamese music, and honor artists who make significant contributions to the industry.

The event is Vietnam’s equivalent of the Grammys, said The Hanoi Times.
